I've always believed that colours play an important part in our life. Our likes or even dislikes for certain colours can reveal more about our personality than you could think. Colours are not only used in Fashion. Colour psychology is used a lot in Advertising, Interior designs, Colour therapy etc. Have you ever wondered why the majority of fast food restaurants opt for red, orange, yellow colour? The reason is not that those are the owner's favourite colours, they were carefully chosen to increase our appetite and believe me there are many more examples like that. The temperaments are the foundation of personality, they are the way we classify person’s emotional attitudes. We cannot fully change who we are. What we can do is to balance a bit our lives. Perhaps changing the colour of the living room, of the car or the colour of the clothes we wear. Here are a few tips.
1. Choleric – associated with Reds and Black. This very active type could use more Blue shades. They have cooling, calming effect. Giving the feeling of space and freedom. Very aggressive people can add a bit of Grey. 2. Sanguine – associated with Yellows. Neutral Green brings harmony to Sanguine person’s life. Green is associated with nature and has a calming effect on a overactive brain. If you are more the sea lover, Turquoise will also do the job. 3. Phlegmatic – associated with Greens and Blues. Those people should be surrounded by shades of Yellow. Yellow brings optimism, warmth. It lifts the mood, gives energy. 4. Melancholic – associated with Indigo, Violets. Those great thinkers need a bit of the energy boost and shades of Red will do just that. As the Red can be quite overwhelming use it just for accessories or soften it with White.
