Amazing Prague and much more...

I’ve just returned from an amazing holiday in the capital of The Czech Republic – Prague. Here are some highlights which might inspire your next trip. I do not work for any travel agents so all these are based purely on my own experience.

1.       Place to stay – Penzion Attractive

This B&B was just great for me, situated only 100m from the famous Charles Bridge. As soon as you step out of the building you are greeted with a beautiful view of Prague Castle and The Vltava River. The breakfast was basic but plenty – bread, jam, nutella, butter, cheese, ham and spread. You could make tea and coffee all day. At the reception were plenty of leaflets. What I liked the most was the fact that we were left alone. I was given a phone number in case I had any questions or problems and they replied pretty quickly. As my return flight was late in the evening I was able to leave the luggage at the reception and pick it up whenever it suited me.

2.       Around Prague

I recommend walking as almost every street in the centre has something great to offer. Not only you don’t miss out on anything you also save money. Be a bit adventurous and try traditional Czech cuisine and local drinks. Although The Czech Republic is famous for its beer there are other options too local wine, mead, grog, hot pear etc.

3.       Trips outside of Prague

There are plenty of companies offering guided tours however do some research before you go, there might be cheaper options and you won’t feel tied down by the strict schedule.

I went to Cesky Krumlov on the bus, using Student agency. It’s easy to book online, great service. Buses run frequently from Na Knizeci, Prague 5.

I have used Premiant  City Tour for a trip to Karlstejn castle. The castle is amazing and worth visiting. There are several guided tours but bear in mind that some of them must be booked well in advance. I guess this is the reason why Premiant City Tour offers only Tour 1 – The Imperial palace and lower floor of The Marian tower – this tour lasts 1 h.

!!! The Czech Republic is a very popular filming location, particularly castles, chateaus and other historical buildings and streets. The filming dates are usually announced well in advanced so check websites before you set off to avoid disappointment!!!

Hope you've enjoyed it
